Pasadena & SGV Run Clubs: Rose Bowl to Glendora
8 clubs · 2 neighborhoods · 10 weekly runs ·
The Rose Bowl Loop is the most famous running route in Southern California, and the San Gabriel Valley behind it pairs 28 miles of river trail with serious mountain climbs. Track nights, sunrise foothill pushes and Route 66 diner finishes all live here.
The 3.1-mile Rose Bowl Loop in Pasadena is shaded, flat and free to park at, which makes it the benchmark run for the whole region, and the Arroyo Seco Trail carries runners north into the Angeles National Forest from the same lot. Further east, the San Gabriel River Trail runs car-free from Azusa to the sea, with the Baldwin Park and Azusa trailheads hosting the area's long runs. Colby Trail in Glendora, Rosedale Great Park and the Garcia Trail supply real elevation, and Citrus College and Azusa Pacific host the valley's track nights. Winter mornings here are cooler than the basin; summer heat builds fast, so most groups meet early or after dark.
