Running Clubs in Long Beach

Los Angeles, CA

Long Beach provides some of the best flat coastal running in the LA metro area, with a paved shoreline path stretching from Belmont Shore to downtown and the scenic trails and grass loops of El Dorado Park inland.

The Long Beach Shoreline Pedestrian Path runs roughly 3.5 miles along the waterfront from Shoreline Village to Belmont Shore, offering flat, scenic running with views of the Queen Mary and Catalina Island on clear days. Belmont Shore's 2nd Street adds a lively neighborhood loop with cafes and shops for post-run stops. El Dorado Regional Park, one of the largest parks in Long Beach, features a 2-mile perimeter path through grass and trees — ideal for recovery runs or families. The San Gabriel River Trail, accessible from the north end of the city, provides a car-free corridor running 28 miles inland. Long Beach has a dedicated and growing running community, with clubs meeting at various points along the shoreline, at Bluff Park, and in the Belmont Heights neighborhood. The consistently flat terrain and coastal breeze make it one of the most comfortable running destinations in SoCal year-round.
