Running in Glendale
Brand Park, at the base of the Verdugo Mountains, is the most popular staging area for trail runners in Glendale. From here, fire roads climb steeply into the Verdugo range with panoramic views extending from downtown LA to the San Gabriel Mountains. Deukmejian Wilderness Park in the northern part of the city offers a quieter, less crowded trail experience with well-maintained paths through chaparral and oak woodland. For flat running, the Verdugo Wash bike path provides several miles of paved, traffic-free running through residential areas, and Adams Square anchors neighborhood group runs in the Adams Hill area. Downtown Glendale along Brand Blvd is flat and well-lit for evening runs. The area is accessible via the Glendale Metrolink station for runners coming from other parts of the region.
