Running Clubs in Glendale

Glendale provides access to some of the best foothill trail running in the LA metro area via the Verdugo Mountains and Deukmejian Wilderness Park. The city also offers flat, runnable corridors along Brand Blvd and the parks along the Verdugo Wash.

Brand Park, at the base of the Verdugo Mountains, is the most popular staging area for trail runners in Glendale. From here, fire roads climb steeply into the Verdugo range with panoramic views extending from downtown LA to the San Gabriel Mountains. Deukmejian Wilderness Park in the northern part of the city offers a quieter, less crowded trail experience with well-maintained paths through chaparral and oak woodland. For flat running, the Verdugo Wash bike path provides several miles of paved, traffic-free running through residential areas. Downtown Glendale along Brand Blvd is flat and well-lit for evening runs. The Glendale running community is active and growing, with several clubs hosting weekly group runs from Brand Park, the Americana at Brand, or Verdugo Park. The area is accessible via the Glendale Metrolink station for runners coming from other parts of the region.
