Running in Redondo Beach & Palos Verdes
From Redondo Pier the Strand runs north past Hermosa to Manhattan Beach, and to the south the Esplanade sidewalk follows the bluff to Torrance Beach, where the beach path ends and Paseo de la Playa climbs into Palos Verdes. Malaga Cove Plaza is the meeting point for most peninsula runs: Palos Verdes Drive and the bridle trails above it deliver real elevation with ocean views the whole way. Riviera Village has the running store, the cafes and the brewery that most weeknight runs finish at. San Pedro, at the far end of the peninsula, has Paseo del Mar and Point Fermin Park for bluff-top miles with the harbor on one side. Terrain ranges from pancake-flat on the Strand to serious hills within a mile inland, so this corner suits both easy social runs and long-run training. Free parking is easy in Riviera Village and along Paseo del Mar; the pier lots charge.
