The LA run club scene
Los Angeles has one of the most active running club scenes in the country. From beachfront paths along Santa Monica and Venice Beach to hill trails in Griffith Park and urban routes through Downtown LA, there's a group run happening every day of the week, from the coast to the San Fernando Valley and the San Gabriel Valley.
Most running clubs in LA are free and open to all levels, from casual social joggers to competitive marathon trainers. Clubs typically meet at parks, cafes, or running stores and cover 3 to 8 miles at a range of paces. Popular morning runs start as early as 5:30 AM to beat the heat, while evening clubs gather after work in neighborhoods like Koreatown, Culver City, and Long Beach. Whether you're looking for a Rose Bowl loop in Pasadena, a beach run along the Strand, or a social crew in Echo Park, this directory helps you find your people.

How to find a run club near you in Los Angeles
The quickest way to find a run club near you in LA is to start with your neighborhood, then the day you can actually make. Every club listed here has its meeting point on a map, a weekly schedule and a link to its Instagram, so you can check the vibe before you show up. Most LA run clubs are free, meet at a park, a cafe or a running store, and welcome first-timers at any pace. Four ways to narrow the list:
1. By neighborhood
Start where you live or work. Los Angeles is split into six regions here, each with its neighborhoods, and every neighborhood page lists its crews with a map of the meeting points.
2. By day of the week
Pick the day you can actually make. Right now Thursday has the most weekly runs (32), then Tuesday (29) and Wednesday (28).
3. By vibe and pace
Beginner-friendly, social, competitive, morning, evening, trail or beach: each kind of run has its own page with every club that fits, and the tags in the club list below filter the same way. Each listing describes the usual distance and pace, so you can pick a crew that matches yours.
4. Show up
Most LA run clubs need no sign-up. Check the meeting point on the map, glance at the club's Instagram the day before for last-minute changes, arrive ten minutes early and say it is your first time. If a club charges a fee or needs a membership, its page says so.
Not seeing a crew near you? Instagram is where LA run clubs live: search your neighborhood plus "run club", and ask at your nearest running store, most host a free weekly run. Then tell us about it so the next runner finds it here.
FAQ
LA run club questions, answered
Everything you need to know about finding and joining a run club in Los Angeles.
Start with your neighborhood or region, then the day you can make. Every listing on LA Running Clubs shows the meeting point on a map, the weekly schedule and the club's Instagram, so you can check the vibe before you go. Use the Beginner, Social, Morning or Evening tags to narrow the list, and sort by next run to see who is heading out soonest.
Show up. Most run clubs in Los Angeles are open to everyone with no registration: find a crew that fits, check the time and meeting point on its page, and introduce yourself when you arrive. Where a club asks for a membership or a fee, the listing says so.
Almost all of them. The typical LA run club costs nothing to join: you turn up, run, and stay for coffee if you like. A few marathon training programs and long-standing clubs charge a season or annual fee, and we note that on their pages. Browsing this directory is free as well, and the core of it always will be; any premium extras we add later stay optional.
No. LA Running Clubs is the directory you are reading, covering every run crew in Los Angeles. LARC, the LA Running Club, is one long-running Westside club with weekly runs around Santa Monica, and it has its own page here alongside every other crew in the city.
Yes, plenty. Look for the Beginner tag in the club list: those crews run at conversational pace and expect new faces every week. A weekend morning social run is the easiest first step. If you are unsure, message the club on Instagram before you go and tell whoever is holding the sign that it is your first time; you will be looked after.
Every day of the week has group runs in Los Angeles. Right now Thursday has the most weekly runs (32), followed by Tuesday (29) and Wednesday (28). Each day page lists every crew that meets that day, with times, meeting points and a map.
Every listing shows when it was last updated, club organizers can claim and edit their own page, and runners can mark a page as accurate or outdated with one tap. Schedules still change, so check the club's Instagram the day before you go, especially if a listing has not been updated in a while. Spotted an error? Use Suggest a change on the club page, or reach us through the Contact page.
Go to the Submit page and fill in the form; it takes about two minutes. We review every submission, usually within a day or two. Once listed, you can claim your club to manage the page yourself: schedules, photos and updates.
Yes: run clubs across LA County, from Santa Monica, Venice and Marina del Rey to Downtown, East LA and Boyle Heights, Hollywood, Long Beach, the South Bay, Palos Verdes and out through the San Fernando and San Gabriel Valleys. If your neighborhood is missing, submit a club from your area and it gets its own page.
